Welcome to the 2010 British Land National Championships. In order to ensure that this event could go ahead, there has been amazing support and goodwill from Snowsport Scotland, Snowsport England, Snowsport Wales and BARSC, who have be instrumental in structuring the way forward - they have given the Team GB interim governing body support and guidance. I cannot thank the following people enough, they have stepped up to the mark and got us to this position: Tim Fawke, Jane Harvey, Robin Kellen and Georgina Morris. They have also been fully supported throughout by the Chiefs of Championships: Jim Hewitt, Richard Ellis, Paul Trayner and myself.

I have been involved with the British for 30 years, I would have been saddened if we had lost this incredible event.
It is the culmination of every season:

• an opportunity for the skiing world to get together and compete against each other
• an opportunity to reflect on the successes and achievements of the season
• a forum for debate and analysis
• a time to meet old friends and make new ones
• a time for our young racers to meet and see our Olympic and Team athletes race

Sir John Ritblat and The British Land Company plc have been our long standing sponsor and it is testament to their commitment to the sport that they have continued to support the event. It will be an honour for us to have Sir John and Lady Ritblat with us in Meribel and we look forward to welcoming them to the Stade again.

Meribel Tourism, Meribel Alpina and the ESF in Meribel have given us enormous support and as such we are delighted to announce a partnership between these three organizations and the Organising Committee (Representing the Home Nations Governing Bodies and BARSC). This will ensure the smooth running of The Championships and build a platform for future joint ventures.
